Mercy for Mamas

COVID-19 Partner Project

The needs right now in Uganda are staggering. The entire country has been on a very strict lockdown for a few weeks. COVID is running rampant, especially the Delta variant that can be do deadly in those not vaccinated. The stories from those on the ground are devastating. This is their second strict lockdown since COVID began. This means the majority of people have not been able to make money. People are going without food. People are struggling to get medical care. People are banned from driving a personal vehicle and public transportation has been stopped. The only exceptions to this rule are for tourism and people with a special medical permit.

Our ministry partners in Uganda are working hard to help meet the needs of the communities they serve. We’ve already been able to help meet many needs because of your generous donations. We’ve helped to pay for ambulance rides, formula, burial expenses, and food for women and families in need.

This past week we reached out to all of our partners to see how we can best help. The overwhelming majority of people said their number one need right now is food. They are trying desperately to provide food to the families that are a part of their ministries or clinics.

Our goal is to provide $2000 worth of food to our partners. We can have a cargo truck deliver the food to their neighborhood, and they will hand deliver the food door to door in a safe manner. Some of our partner ministries have people living at their place of work, so they can continue the work, despite the transportation limits. Can you imagine camping out on the floor of your office for weeks at a time? This is the reality people are facing.

You can donate to this project using this link or the button below, COVID-19 Partner Project. All money will be used to purchase food and other necessary supplies during this lockdown. Also, check out our Shop. All proceeds from sales for the next month will go toward our COVID relief efforts.
